Hi Len,
Just wanted to send you an update of my progress since my weight related hypnosis to give you some feedback and let you know you have changed my life forever. When I originally came to see you, I was ready to stop being overweight and spectating in life. I was ready to live a more active life and become a healthier version of myself and therefore a happy one. But no matter how often I had felt this urge, I still couldn't get it together. I felt like I was constantly having to fight with myself about food choices and actually doing exercise was like trying to convince myself to chew glass - even though I did genuinely enjoy it once I was doing it.

Since our sessions, I have felt an eagerness and willingness to be more active in life, to exercise regularly and I don't feel like I have to fight myself constantly to get moving. I am making positive food choices that enable me to life a healthy lifestyle and I am becoming fitter everyday. The sense of relief I feel is overwhelming. Relief that I now have my life in my own control and am leading the kind of life I want for myself and my family. And the peace and quiet that is in my mind is second to none! No more voices urging me to give up, no more thoughts of negativity. Instead I am looking for healthy solutions and opportunities to exercise where there previously was only excuses.

Honestly Len, I have spent so much money over the years on weight management. Weight Watchers, Tony Ferguson, Lite n Easi, Cohen's Lifestyle program etc etc etc. All focus on restricting your diet and I would lose weight and then pile it back on with bingeing. Now I feel like I am free. No restictions, just simple eating guidelines that have enhanced my life and taught me to manage my food without thinking too much about it.

We have just returned from a trip to Canada, where I WANTED to climb several hundreds steps to the summit of a mountain for fun! Previously, I would have sent my husband off on his own. Yes, I was puffed and red in the face - but I was so pleased with myself and excited that I had wanted to do it. My life has changed. I walked downtown whenever I can, just because it's nice to get out and breathe in the fresh air. I have started an introduction to running program and I will be completing the City to Surf marathon next year in August with a friend. My daughter Lucy will grow up knowing an active life.

My favourite part is the quiet in my mind. Thanks so much for all your help*.  Lauren

Scientific findings...

In a 9-week study of two weight management groups (one using hypnosis for weight reduction and one not using hypnosis), the hypnosis for weight reduction group continued to get results in the two-year follow-up, while the non-hypnosis group showed no further results (Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1985).

In a study of 60 women separated into hypnosis versus non-hypnosis groups, the groups using hypnosis lost an average of 17 pounds, while the non-hypnosis group lost an average of only .5 pounds (Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1986).

In a comparison of the results of adding hypnosis to weight reduction treatment across multiple studies showed that adding hypnosis increased weight loss by an average of 97% during treatment, and even more importantly increased the effectiveness POST TREATMENT by over 146%. This shows that hypnosis works even better over time (Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1996).

Clinical hypnotists do essentially three things with hypnosis.
They encourage the use of imagination. Mental imagery is very powerful, especially in a focused state of attention. The mind seems capable of using imagery, even if it is only symbolic, to assist us in bringing about the things we are imagining. For example, a patient with ulcerative colitis may be asked to imagine what her distressed colon looks like. If she imagines it as being like a tunnel, with very red, inflamed walls that are rough in texture, the patient may be encouraged in hypnosis (and in self-hypnosis) to imagine this image changing to a healthy one.

Another basic hypnotic method is to present ideas or suggestions to the patient. In a state of concentrated attention, ideas and suggestions that are compatible with what the patient wants seem to have a more powerful impact on the mind. Hypnosis for weight reduction or to stop smoking or for some other purpose that the patient desires can be quite effective.

Finally, hypnosis may be used for unconscious exploration, to better understand underlying motivations or identify whether past events or experiences are associated with causing a problem. Hypnosis avoids the critical censor of the conscious mind, which often defeats what we know to be in our best interests.


The main reason people find it hard to lose weight has to do with the subconcious mind.  Once smoking becomes a habit, your subconscious mind drives you to smoke automatically. So unless you deal with the subconcious mind, and the individual reasons that  you smoke, you are unlikely to give up in the long term.


The reason for the success with this method is that it deals with all the reasons that are unique to you, and is also pro-active in removing a lot of the common reasons people fail, before they even happen. 

How does this system work?  One of the main reasons why this system works so well is because of Advanced Hypnosis. The old myths and misconceptions about hypnosis have given way to proven, scientifically sound applications. Today the use of hypnosis is seen in medicine, dentistry, law enforcement, professional sports, and education. The other reason the method works is because it is tailored to your individual needs. It uses NLP, destroying myths, and removing ingrained habits.

How does hypnosis work?  Our minds work on two levels the conscious and the subconscious. We make decisions, think, and act with our conscious mind. The subconscious mind controls our habits. In the relaxed state known as hypnosis, we can communicate directly with the subconscious mind. This is why it is so quick and easy to change habits of a lifetime with hypnosis.

Will This System work for me?  Everyone with an Average IQ can be successful in using this system. And because the session is custom tailored to your individual needs, it works for almost anyone.

 

Is this system safe?  The methods are largley based on advanced hypnosis and NLP. Both of these systems are completely safe. You are aware and in control at every moment and can terminate the session at any time. You cannot get stuck in hypnosis. You can't be made to do something against your will! Hypnosis is a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable experience.
